Our rating
Pros
- This product is made with minimally processed wholegrain wheat and dried fruit
- It is incredibly high in dietary fibre and protein which means this will help to make you feel satisfied after breakfast for longer. This makes it a great breakfast option for kids and adults
- Made from 87% Australian ingredients, which is a win for the planet as it means the food hasn't travelled far (so reducing food miles) and is a win for Aussie farmers
- Wheat is a relatively low greenhouse gas producing grain in Australia
- Vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Cons
- It is packaged in plastic, which can no longer be recycled in Australia. We suggest you get creative and re-use it - a nappy bag perhaps?
- It has some additional preservatives, which are from the dried fruit (and come in most dried fruit)
- A quick look at the nutritional information panel will show that this food is quite high in sugar, however, almost all of this sugar is from the dried fruit. That's why it's important to always check the ingredients list too.
Summary
We recommend this product. It scored 4/5 because it is Australian grown, plant-based and minimally processed - these are all essential elements for both your health and the planet. If you're looking for a nutritious muesli option for breakfast or to sprinkle on top of yoghurts and chia seed puddings then this is one we recommend. Adding your own nuts and seeds would also be a great addition.
