Summary

As far as supermarket sliced breads go, this is one of the best we’ve seen and we recommend it. Although the ingredients list is long, most of the ingredients themselves are highly nutritious and would be a good start to the day as toast, or a filling lunch option for adults and kids, especially kids who don’t eat many protein containing foods at school. While this product contains acidity regulators, ascorbic acid and enzymes, you won’t find a supermarket product without these types of additives.

The low star rating of 1.5 reflects some of the key components of sustainability included in our algorithm, including the fact it’s ultra-processed (like all sliced supermarket bread), it’s packaging is purely plastic (like all supermarket bread), and it’s only made with 58% Australian ingredients. These are all good things to consider when buying food, but you can make a meal with this bread more eco-friendly by adding locally grown and seasonal salad vegetables, or homemade hummus.
